Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Aaron Aleth (ranked 1460 p4p, 1971 weight class) and Rene Lafayette (ranked 219 p4p, 286 weight class). Lafayette has chosen Erasure - Always as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

Lafayette fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Aleth, pushing him back against the cage.
Lafayette is trying to maintain a safe position but Aleth gets an underhook and turns Lafayette into the cage.
Aleth misses with a punch on the inside.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Aleth.
Aleth pushes Lafayette back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Aleth fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Lafayette tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Aleth smiles and moves away.

Aleth closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Lafayette misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Aleth doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lafayette fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Aleth blocking some punches.
Aleth goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Aleth blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Aleth lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Aleth throws a punch but it's blocked by Lafayette.
Lafayette tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Lafayette tries a body shot but Aleth blocks it.
Aleth prevents a body shot from Lafayette.

Lafayette jumps into guard, dragging Aleth to the mat.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Lafayette bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Aleth's guard.

Lafayette thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Aleth is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Aleth is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Aleth has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Lafayette pushes down on Aleth's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Aleth is trying to control Lafayette's posture. Lafayette takes advantage of the lull and advances to side control. He also appears to have an arm triangle here! Uh oh, big trouble for Aleth! Lafayette is rotating here... this could be the end... Aleth is out! Lafayette has ended this one emphatically! Great submission!

In his post fight interview, Rene Lafayette started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
