This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of London, with a TWGC record of 4 wins and 4 losses; Able Archer! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 33 wins and 16 losses; David Morrison!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Wagner Zegers and Nard Betker.


Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious?

Morrison shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Archer's guard.

Morrison looking to pass the guard.
Archer might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Archer looking to hit a scissor sweep but Morrison is one step ahead there.
Morrison not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Morrison advances to half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Morrison frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Archer is trying desperately to improve position.
Archer stops Morrison from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.
Archer wants to hold on but Morrison pushes him away.
Archer working to try and regain half guard.
Archer slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Archer wants to improve his position but Morrison is controlling well.
Archer is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Morrison's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Morrison's back!

Morrison tries to break free.
Morrison is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Archer is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Morrison knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Morrison for a finish.
Morrison felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Archer really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Morrison.

Morrison breaks Archer's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Archer working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Morrison is trying to get back to half guard.
Morrison trying his best to control but Archer has mounted him.

Archer wants to control the pace but Morrison is squirming around nicely.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Archer tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Morrison has given up his back. Will we see Archer going for some submissions?

Morrison tries to escape but he's let his defenses down in doing so and Archer has slipped in the rear naked choke! Oh, that's tiiiiiiiiight! Morrison is tapping! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
