Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

Smith misses with a takedown

and ZOldick counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Smith is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
ZOldick wants to stand but Smith is controlling his posture from full guard.

Smith is looking for a triangle but ZOldick pushes his legs off easily.
Smith is adopting a defensive guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Smith is pressed up against the ropes. ZOldick has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Smith down to the mat. Smith avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
ZOldick tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Smith paws at him with a jab and circles away.

ZOldick wants to clinch up but Smith keeps it at a distance.

Smith closes the distance and clinches.
Smith jumps guard but ZOldick stands there with Smith around his waist. Smith gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Killua ZOldick has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Spud Smith.
ZOldick goes for a takedown in the clinch but Smith prevents it.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

ZOldick gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Smith regains guard.
ZOldick would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Smith is looking to stand up but ZOldick isn't so interested in that idea.
ZOldick is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

ZOldick trying to control the position from guard on top but Smith is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

ZOldick lands a left and a right that send Smith crashing to the mat, dazed. ZOldick thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Spud Smith has been cut.
ZOldick is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Smith can do to turn this around?

ZOldick has closed the distance and engaged Smith in a clinch.
Smith is still on wobbly legs! Can ZOldick finish him?
Smith is looking to control ZOldick's arms but ZOldick gets an underhook and turns him. Now Smith has his back to the ropes.
Smith content to slow the pace in the clinch.
ZOldick is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Smith is defending well.

Smith wants to get back to his feet but ZOldick passes into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

ZOldick stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Smith to get to his feet.

ZOldick fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Smith, pushing him back against the ropes.

ZOldick breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
ZOldick stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and ZOldick wants it to stay on the feet.
ZOldick moves in looking to clinch but Smith pushes him off.

ZOldick is looking for a takedown. Wow, that's a brutal slam - Smith is in big trouble! ZOldick is landing strikes from the mount and this one is all over! The ref jumps in to save a confused looking Smith. Poor guy.
