PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ted Bundy (ranked 210 p4p, 51 weight class) and Kvame Zulu (ranked 10 p4p, 3 weight class). Zulu is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Big Badaboom. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yuuki Gou and Yukihiro Shimada.

Zulu misses with an uppercut. Bundy saw that one coming.
Bundy looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Zulu.

Zulu clinches.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Zulu.

Bundy has picked Zulu up - he's going for a ride! Bundy dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Zulu is trying to stand up here but Bundy is controlling him well.
Zulu has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bundy is working away from the top position though.
Bundy working over Zulu with some ground and pound. Zulu looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

It looks like Kvame Zulu has been cut.

Bundy thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Zulu's head.
Zulu makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Zulu.

Bundy loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Bundy wants to control from the top but Zulu keeps moving.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Zulu jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Zulu slips under a jab from Bundy.
Bundy looks for a takedown but Zulu sprawls well.
Zulu misses with a straight right.
Bundy drops down looking for a counter takedown but Zulu sprawls and moves away.
Kvame Zulu is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Zulu goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Zulu tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bundy was well out of range. Poor timing from Zulu.

and Zulu counters with a right hand to the body.
Zulu throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Nice uppercut lands for Zulu. That snapped Bundy's head back.
Zulu scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Bundy gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
enabling Zulu to counter with a crisp jab.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bundy moves out of range of the body kick.
Bundy keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Zulu.
Bundy doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Zulu stuffs the takedown attempt from Bundy. Bundy gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ted Bundy. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Zulu lands with a slapping head kick.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Zulu throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kvame Zulu dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Zulu punishes Bundy's body with a nice straight punch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Zulu's jab looks to have found its range, popping Bundy under the eye.

Ted Bundy's cut is getting worse.
Nice takedown defense from Zulu. No joy for Bundy on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ted Bundy. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Bundy avoids the body shot from Zulu.
Bundy wants to clinch

and Zulu counters with a crisp right hand that drops Bundy! Zulu lets Bundy back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Zulu has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Zulu cracks Bundy on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Bundy falls backwards against the ropes. Zulu follows up with more strikes that drop Bundy to his knees. Zulu keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Bundy! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kvame Zulu!
Our winner, Kvame Zulu, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
