Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Donny Donowitz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Wulfgar Beornegar!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Thiago Cunha and Matheus Silva.

Donowitz uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Beornegar.
Beornegar shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Beornegar fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Donowitz throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Beornegar is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Beornegar shoots in for a double leg but Donowitz sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Beornegar darts in and clinches Donowitz up against the cage.
Donowitz gets through Beornegar's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Beornegar has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Donowitz is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Donowitz is pushing Beornegar up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Beornegar is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Donowitz pulls him back up using the underhooks.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Donowitz takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
I was talking to Donowitz's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Donowitz lands with a short head shot on the inside.

Beornegar has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Donowitz uses from the top position.
Donowitz is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Our spies down at at Ludus Magnus inform us that Beornegar has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Donowitz avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Donowitz controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Beornegar is looking for a triangle but Donowitz pushes his legs off easily.
Donowitz knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Beornegar on the ground.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Donowitz missing with a left hand there. Beornegar was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Donowitz lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Beornegar is defended easily by Donowitz.
Donowitz jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
Donowitz throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Beornegar feints the counter takedown.
Donowitz thuds his shin into the meat of Beornegar's side.
Beornegar looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Donowitz is fending him off so far but Beornegar persists. Nope, Donowitz circles away and we're back to standing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Donowitz keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Beornegar moves into range and connects with a jab.
Donowitz leaves Beornegar with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Beornegar moves out of range of the leg kick from Donowitz.
Donowitz is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Beornegar can do to turn this around?

Beornegar takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Donowitz cracks Beornegar with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Beornegar falls to his knees and Donowitz doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
