We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Arones has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Thiago is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Arones lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

Thiago clobbers Arones with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Thiago throws a low kick but it's checked well by Arones.

Thiago takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Arones tries to move into range but Thiago moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Thiago is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Thiago throws a front kick aimed at Arones's knee but Arones avoids it well.

Thiago lands a big uppercut and Arones crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Arones looks OK. Thiago waves Arones back to his feet!

Thiago finds Arones's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Arones flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Thiago lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Arones will be OK.
