PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Louis C K (ranked 1378 p4p, 284 weight class) and Coral Sea (ranked 173 p4p, 35 weight class). C K comes into the arena with Live at Carnegie Hall blaring out of the sound system. Sea comes into a darkened arena with his song building. For Heavy Metal we will die! kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Louis C K!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Coral Sea!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Percy O'Donnell and Timothy Bukovac.

Sea keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from C K.
Sea connects with a right hand. C K shakes it off.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Sea has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
C K slips a straight right by Sea.
C K swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Sea uses good head movement to avoid the hook from C K.

and Sea counters with a left to the body.
C K chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Sea can pounce on him.
Sea takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Sea uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by C K.

C K closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Sea's guard.

Sea is trying to keep C K in close.
Sea tries to land a sweep but no joy.
C K trying to control the position from guard on top but Sea is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
C K working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Sea looking for a guillotine here but C K defends easily.
C K will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Sea is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
C K controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Sea has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

We've been hearing good reports from C K's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Coral Sea showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

C K throws a hook to the side of Sea's head but Sea sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
C K scores with a hook.
C K throws a body shot but no joy.
Sea is looking to slow C K down with leg kicks.
The crowd cheers as C K lands an impressive looking overhand right. Sea doesn't seem phased though.

Sea closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Sea lands a strong strike to the head of C K. That's dazed him! Sea looking to finish here. C K is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Sea lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Coral Sea!
After the fight, Coral Sea was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
