Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ran Ran!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Percival James!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Michael Johnstone and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

James on the wrong end of a nice jab.
James dives in for a single leg takedown but Ran sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
James avoids the body shot from Ran.
James feints the counter takedown.
James's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Ran connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! James scrambles back to his feet.

letting Ran counter with a right hand.

It looks like Percival James has been cut.

Ran rushes James and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
James has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Ran is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Ran Ran has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Percival James.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ran gets underhooks to prevent James's takedown attempt.

Ran escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ran jabs at James's body.
Ran scores with a crisp jab that stopped James in his tracks.

Ran clobbers James with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
James doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Ran counters with a nice uppercut.
Ran getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
James gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
letting Ran counter with a right hand.
Ran throws a shot to the body.
Ran Ran seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
James misses with a takedown

and Ran counters with a crisp right hand that drops James! Ran lets James back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

James is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ran fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops James to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! James looks to clinch but Ran throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! James taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Ran Ran!
Ran Ran decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
