Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Kerr (ranked 39 p4p, 3 weight class) and Iain Tower (ranked 6 p4p, 1 weight class). Tower comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Kanye - Power kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shigeki Sano and Shirou Masuda.

Kerr's corner calls for a 1-2. Kerr obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Kerr has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Kerr there as he acknowledges the shot.
Kerr uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Tower.
Tower throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

It looked like Kerr wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Kerr looks to land a left hand but Tower moved out of range nicely.
Kerr catches Tower with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Iain Tower seems to be getting the better of the standup.

and Kerr takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Tower scores with a sloppy right hand. Kerr should have avoided that one.
Kerr throws a hook but Tower avoids it easily.

Kerr looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

and Tower counters with a good low kick that Kerr was not able to check.
Tower uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Kerr has time to react.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Tower finds Kerr's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Kerr flops back against the ropes, eyes gazing into the distance. Tower lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Kerr will be OK.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Iain Tower! Iain Tower retains his heavyweight title!
A relieved looking Iain Tower thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
