Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gabino Gonzales (ranked 2368 p4p, 2898 weight class) and Mario Puzo (ranked 0 p4p, 38 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Puzo's choice of entrance music: Speak Softly Love. Mario Puzo is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gabino Gonzales!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 35 - 27 - 4, fighting out of New York, Mario Puzo!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Wesley Smith and Tiny Johnson.

Puzo thumps Gonzales with a low kick.
Gonzales throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Puzo counters with a nice double leg into side control. Gonzales won't be happy with that.
Puzo works to advance to full mount. Gonzales defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Puzo cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Puzo fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Oh Gonzales is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Puzo takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Gonzales seems to have got his legs back now.
Gonzales knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Puzo on the ground.

Puzo is landing with some decent strikes but Gonzales is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Puzo cracks Gonzales with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Puzo working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Gonzales looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Puzo! Submission of the night perhaps?
