Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cereal Ganes (ranked 3320 p4p, 3180 weight class) and Forex Trader (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Cereal Ganes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Forex Trader!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Micheangelo Fripello and Jeff Smith.

Trader gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Ganes counters with a nice double leg into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Trader is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Ganes stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Trader swivels though and keeps the full guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ganes has gone for a leg lock! Trader slips out almost immediately though and dives into Ganes's guard.

Ganes has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Trader can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Ganes knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Trader on the ground.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Ganes is looking to improve his position but Trader isn't that keen on the idea.

Ganes is squirming around, avoiding Trader's attempts to control the action.

A close round but Forex Trader will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Ganes drives through with a takedown into guard.
Ganes throws an elbow that misses. Trader uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Ganes's guard. Nice move by Trader!


Trader stands and steps away. Ganes gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Trader should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Trader controls Ganes momentarily but Ganes frees himself.

Ganes sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Trader's guard.

Ganes will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Ganes wants to work for an arm triangle but Trader is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Trader has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ganes is working away from the top position though.
Ganes slips a nice elbow through Trader's hands, connecting with Trader's forehead.
Ganes looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Trader with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Trader makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Trader.

Trader isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Ganes stacks Trader on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Ganes!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

You can see the frustration on Trader's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Ganes feints and as Trader raises his hands in defense, Ganes changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Trader got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ganes has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Trader has managed to get both his arms back between Ganes's legs - danger averted.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
