This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Amsterdam, with a TWGC record of 20 wins and 9 losses; Rolf Ottke! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 13 wins and 8 losses; Morrison Lee!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.


The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Lee shoots for a takedown but Ottke saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Ottke seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

Lee drives through with a takedown into Ottke's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Lee tries to free his leg and advance position but Ottke is retaining full guard.
Lee wants to control from the top but Ottke keeps moving.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Lee stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ottke swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Ottke is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Lee wants to control from the top but Ottke keeps moving.

Lee got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ottke has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lee has managed to get both his arms back between Ottke's legs - danger averted.

Lee might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Ottke haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
