Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Juan Verelea (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Felix Flashlighter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Flashlighter has chosen Aerosmith - Lightning Strikes as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Juan Verelea!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Felix Flashlighter!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Roosa Järviläinen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Verelea throws an overhand right that lands on Flashlighter's shoulder, as Flashlighter tries to avoid the shot.
Flashlighter scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Flashlighter slips under a jab.
Flashlighter throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
A nice leg kick lands there from Flashlighter.
Flashlighter throws a hook but Verelea blocks it.
Verelea misses with a body shot.
Flashlighter throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Verelea.
Flashlighter throws a sloppy head kick and Verelea moves out of range easily.

Flashlighter shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Verelea's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Flashlighter tries to free his leg and advance position but Verelea is retaining full guard.

Flashlighter avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Verelea has his foot on Flashlighter's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Flashlighter works his way back into a safe position though.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Flashlighter postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Flashlighter creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Verelea sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Flashlighter throws a front kick that sends Verelea stumbling back into the ropes.
Verelea is breathing heavily.
Verelea misses with a straight left.

Flashlighter shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Flashlighter controlling the pace.
Flashlighter lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Flashlighter connects with a nice short shot to Verelea's temple.

Flashlighter working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Verelea is looking to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Felix Flashlighter dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Verelea misses with a hook.
Flashlighter rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Verelea moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Flashlighter lands a head kick that stumbles Verelea and the fighters go to the mat.
Flashlighter must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Verelea wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Flashlighter is now in half guard.
Verelea is looking for a sweep. Flashlighter is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Verelea has hold of Flashlighter's hands but Flashlighter slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Flashlighter is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Flashlighter pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Oooooh, big shot lands for Flashlighter! Verelea is hurt baaadly! Flashlighter is firing away with more strikes - Verelea is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
