Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sampsa Pikari!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Kim Karlsen!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Colin Fotheringham and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pikari wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Pikari throws a body punch but Karlsen moves out of range.
Karlsen is looking to clinch.
Pikari thows a body shot but no joy.
Pikari slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Karlsen moves in looking to clinch but Pikari pushes him off.
Pikari swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Pikari fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Pikari throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Pikari looks to land a combination but Karlsen avoids it well.
Pikari shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Karlsen pinned against the cage. Karlsen gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Karlsen doesn't manage to clinch there - Pikari circles away.
Karlsen wants to clinch up but Pikari keeps it at a distance.
Pikari throws a nice looking combination but Karlsen bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Karlsen moves away from the strike by Pikari.
Karlsen defending well as Pikari loads up on a big left hand.
Karlsen fails in his attempt to clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Karlsen tries to clinch there but Pikari circles away.
Karlsen keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
No luck for Pikari with that takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sampsa Pikari. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Karlsen tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Pikari paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Pikari misses with a low kick.

Pikari shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Karlsen is trying to defend but Pikari finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Pikari looks to land a strike but Karlsen avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Pikari tries to free his leg and advance position but Karlsen is retaining full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Karlsen looking for a guillotine here but Pikari defends easily.

Pikari might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Karlsen is on top in guard.
Pikari wants to sweep here but Karlsen controlling him for the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Karlsen postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Pikari looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Karlsen wants to pass the guard but Pikari is keeping the position.

Pikari is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Karlsen defends well.
Karlsen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pikari swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Pikari trying to keep a closed guard but Karlsen is proving a slippery customer.

Karlsen drops back, looking for a kneebar! Pikari looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Pikari looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Pikari!
Karlsen wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Pikari has hold of Karlsen's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Karlsen tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Pikari cranks the arm and Karlsen screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Karlsen, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:03 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Sampsa Pikari!
