Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paolo Mendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bam Bam Beastly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mendez's entrance music is Jay-Z - Brooklyn We Go Hard. A fine choice. Beastly is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Boadicea by Enya. This should be a great matchup!

The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Alan Glass and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Beastly.
Beastly throws a push kick but Mendez slaps the foot to one side.
Mendez looks to land a left hand but Beastly moved out of range nicely.
Mendez throws a shot from downtown. Beastly moves away and avoids it.
Mendez tries to clinch up.

Mendez walks into a stiff left hand from Beastly.
Mendez doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
The fight stays on the outside here - Mendez looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Beastly thows a left - swing and a miss!

Mendez fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Mendez cracks Beastly with a right hand to the side of the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Beastly defending well as Mendez loads up on a big left hand.

Mendez swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Beastly.
Mendez tries to close the distance and clinch but Beastly swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
A bone on bone clash there as Mendez blocks the leg kick.
Mendez fails in his attempt to clinch.
A swing and a miss from Mendez.
Beastly throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Mendez sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Mendez tries to clinch but Beastly is having none of it.

Beastly closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Beastly lands in his opponent's guard.
Mendez tries to strike from the bottom.
Beastly advances position into side control!
Beastly thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Beastly tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Beastly has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Beastly landing a few strikes.
Mendez is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mendez is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Beastly in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Mendez tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Beastly!
