Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Helio Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Pinkerton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tom Pinkerton is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Joseph Jones and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Pinkerton.
Some wild striking there from Gracie.
Gracie throws a right and a left that both miss.
Gracie throws a series of punches but Pinkerton moves out of range.
Pinkerton feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Gracie can't keep his opponent in guard - Pinkerton advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Pinkerton has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Nice straight punches there by Gracie. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Gracie.
Pinkerton closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Pinkerton stops Gracie from getting back to his feet.
Pinkerton has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
