Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kendo Nagasaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Link (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nagasaki clinches up with Link and pushes him back against the cage.
Nagasaki is working for takedown but Link is calmly controlling the position for now.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Nagasaki.
Link wants to break the clinch but can't.
Link has had enough of the clinch but Nagasaki keeps him there for the moment.
Link wants to get back to striking at distance but Nagasaki won't allow it.

Link breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Link misses with a jab, cross combination.
Link wants to land a leg kick but Nagasaki is out of range.
Link misses with a low kick.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Link lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Nagasaki has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Nagasaki and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Link throws and low kick but Nagasaki moves out of range easily.
Nagasaki thows a body kick. Link tries to catch it but that hurt him.

Nagasaki instigates a clinch.
Link wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Nagasaki gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Nagasaki prevents Link from breaking the clinch.
A nice right hand lands inside from Nagasaki.
Nagasaki using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Link has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Link wants to break free but Nagasaki has control.
Link is pressed up against the cage. Nagasaki has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Link down to the mat. Link avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Nagasaki shoots in but Link avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kendo Nagasaki. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nagasaki is breathing heavily.
A nice leg kick lands there from Link.
Link throws a low kick but it's checked well by Nagasaki.
Link misses with a leg kick.
Link fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Nagasaki is out of range.

Nagasaki gets a takedown into half guard.

Nagasaki seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Link does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Link is refusing to be controlled, as Nagasaki sits in half guard.

Nagasaki is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Link has managed to free his arm - good work.
Link is trying to stand.

Link kicks off Nagasaki and gets to his feet.
The fight stays on the outside here - Nagasaki looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Link tries a low kick but Nagasaki avoids it.
John Link is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Link attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Nagasaki avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

Nagasaki changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Link looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Nagasaki advances to full mount.
Link really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Nagasaki wants to control the pace but Link is squirming around nicely.
