Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Revan Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Seu Braga and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie avoids the head kick by Hughs.
Hughs throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Gracie's head.


It looks like Revan Gracie has been cut.

Gracie closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Gracie wants to pass the guard but Hughs is defending well.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Hughs seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hughs wanted to stand there but Gracie had control of the position.
Hughs knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gracie on the ground.

Gracie had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Hughs is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Gracie Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Hughs's back instead.

Hughs is trying to get back to his feet but Gracie has full control of the position and if anything, Hughs has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Hughs is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Gracie is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Gracie has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Hughs is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Hughs in particular looking to stall.

Hughs throws a right hand that Gracie ducks under and follows up with a left that Gracie also avoids with ease.

Hughs rushes Gracie and presses him up against the cage.
Hughs tries to land a knee to the head but Gracie blocks with his arms.
Hughs lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Gracie tries for a takedown but Hughs manages to get underhooks.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Hughs creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Gracie sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hughs throws a chopping leg kick but Gracie manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

And that's the end of the fight!
Joe Hughs showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hughs, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
