PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Duane Bobbick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Starship Pain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bobbick comes to the cage accompanied by Indestructable. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Duane Bobbick!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Starship Pain!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, David Schapiro and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pain swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Pain gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Bobbick.
Starship Pain seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pain throws the left hand but Bobbick avoids the punch easily.
Pain throws a body punch but Bobbick moves out of range.
Bobbick throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Bobbick is looking to chop away at Pain's legs.
Pain misses with a few strikes there.
Bobbick avoids the body shot from Pain.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Bobbick lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Pain has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Pain and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Bobbick ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Pain fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Pain staying out of range there.
Bobbick misses with a wild body shot.
Pain throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Bobbick escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bobbick uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Pain.
Bobbick throws out a loose jab but Pain uses good head movement to avoid it.
Bobbick misses with a straight left.
Bobbick throws a series of punches but Pain avoids them all with ease.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Pain, as that shot connected.
Pain swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Bobbick counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.


It looks like Starship Pain has been cut.
Pain tries to clinch but Bobbick is having none of it.
Bobbick takes a swing at Pain's ribcage but misses.
Pain digs a good body shot into Bobbick's ribs.
Bobbick throws a body punch but Pain moves out of range.
Bobbick throws the left hand but Pain avoids the punch easily.
Pain shoots in for a takedown but Bobbick shows good takedown defense.
Bobbick motions for Pain to come forward. Bobbick throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Pain fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Pain scores with a nice strike.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bobbick takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Pain is trying hard to land a takedown here. Bobbick sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Duane Bobbick has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Starship Pain.
Pain tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bobbick was well out of range. Poor timing from Pain.
Bobbick dodges the punch combination from Pain.
Pain throws a hook but Bobbick avoids it easily.
Pain misses the shot to the body.

Pain gets a takedown into half guard.

Bobbick has one foot on Pain's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Pain will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Bobbick rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Pain moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Bobbick lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pain just misses with a punch to the body.
Pain misses with a takedown attempt - Bobbick sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Bobbick lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Bobbick throws an overhand right that lands on Pain's shoulder, as Pain tries to avoid the shot.
Bobbick waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Pain.
Pain dives in and grabs Bobbick's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bobbick pushes down on Pain's head and hops out.
Pain fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Bobbick feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Pain sprawling to the canvas! Pain rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Bobbick finish him?!


Pain is rocked!
Bobbick feints a kick and comes over the top with a right hand, followed by a left hook - both land, sending Pain crashing to the mat! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Duane Bobbick!
Duane Bobbick retains his heavyweight title!
