Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Junior Lessard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oma Plata (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lessard comes to the cage accompanied by ILS - Rigor Mortis. Junior Lessard has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lessard jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Plata on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Lessard. Lessard obviously looking to wear him down.
Plata shoots in for a double leg but Lessard sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Plata blocks the body kick.
Lessard's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Lessard duly obliges.

Plata swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Plata tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Lessard was well out of range. Poor timing from Plata.

Plata lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Lessard circles away quickly and effectively.

Lessard sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Plata must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Lessard parries the strikes from Plata easily there. Plata is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Lessard to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lessard lands a brutal uppercut that launches Plata off his feet! Plata tumbles to the floor, barely conscious - the referee jumps in to save him from a beating! Wow, what an ending!
