The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khali misses with a jab, cross combination.
Khali throws the left hand but Ovechkin avoids the punch easily.

Ovechkin closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Khali looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Khali is looking for a sweep. Ovechkin is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Khali lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

Ovechkin bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Khali knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ovechkin on the ground.
Khali avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Ovechkin.

Ovechkin is trying to get an arm triangle but Khali is defending well.

Ovechkin is working to tighten is grip on Khali's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Khali has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Ovechkin is really squeezing tight and eventually Khali passes out! Ovechkin breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
