Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Akira Kazama!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Poe Edgar!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Elvis Blanc and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kazama gets the takedown into side control.
Edgar is trying to improve his position.
Edgar is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Kazama has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Edgar's face.

That's time! Kazama's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Kazama wants the takedown. Edgar is fighting it off but Kazama persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Edgar's guard against the cage.

Edgar escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kazama gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Kazama content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Edgar escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kazama gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Edgar looking for subs off his back but Kazama has passed one foot through into half guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Kazama connects with a nice short shot to Edgar's temple.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Kazama cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Edgar tries a head kick but it misses.
Poe Edgar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A telegraphed right hand from Kazama misses the target.
Edgar misses with a looping right.
Edgar misses with a hook.
Edgar stuns Kazama with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Kazama throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Edgar darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Kazama closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Edgar gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Edgar is looking for a sweep. Kazama is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Edgar takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Poe Edgar has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Kazama looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Kazama takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Edgar wants to sweep but Kazama has passed to side control!
Kazama content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Kazama blocks the strikes from Edgar.
Kazama controls the position.

Edgar sneaks back into half guard.
Edgar is pressing down on Kazama's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Edgar has his foot on Kazama's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kazama works his way back into a safe position though.

Edgar working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kazama doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kazama manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kazama, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
