Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Malvin Maldi!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Navorro Bowman!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Chris Downing and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maldi throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Bowman wants to slow Maldi down by chopping away at his legs.
Bowman pivots, looking for a leg kick but Maldi is out of range and Bowman settles back down.
Maldi blocks a head kick by Bowman.
Bowman shoots in for a double leg but Maldi sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Malvin Maldi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Maldi throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Bowman sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Bowman tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Maldi is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Bowman's shoulder. That is not cool.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Bowman can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Maldi controls the pace.
Maldi won't allow Bowman to sweep him here.

Maldi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bowman swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Maldi lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Maldi.

Maldi throws an overhand right that lands on Bowman's shoulder, as Bowman tries to avoid the shot.

Maldi is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Maldi gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Bowman decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Maldi's guard.
Maldi controls Bowman momentarily but Bowman frees himself.
Maldi avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Maldi rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bowman moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Bowman changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Maldi looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Bowman is absolutely dripping with sweat - he looks exhausted.

Maldi jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Bowman manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Maldi is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Bowman has escaped the position, nice work there.

Maldi thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Maldi tries to advance position but instead Bowman slips a leg back in to half guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Bowman is trying to stand back up but Maldi is controlling him

Maldi is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Bowman is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Bowman has escaped and now he's on top!

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Malvin Maldi.
I think Maldi has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
