PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Biggie Smalls (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and T Rex (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smalls comes to the cage accompanied by Gimme The Loot. T Rex told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rex looks for the body kick but Smalls saw that one coming.
Smalls keeps the fight on the outside.
Rex misses with a body shot.
Rex does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Horrible takedown by Smalls or perhaps it was just good defense by Rex which made him look bad.
Smalls moves away from the strike by Rex.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rex cracks Smalls with a right hand to the side of the head.

Rex fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Smalls manages to avoid it.
Smalls has a takedown stuffed.
Smalls changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rex tries to avoid it but Smalls manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rex to the ground. Rex escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Biggie Smalls. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rex dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Rex lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rex throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Smalls sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Smalls displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Rex throws out the jab.

Smalls throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rex's waist but Rex gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Smalls off to one side.

Smalls fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Smalls drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Smalls is trying hard to land a takedown here. Rex sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Smalls shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Smalls ducks under a wild hook from Rex.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Rex. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Rex paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Smalls shoots in but Rex avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Rex tests Smalls's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Biggie Smalls's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Smalls shoots in looking for a takedown. Rex tries to sprawl out of it but Smalls keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rex manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Smalls. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

T Rex is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
