Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Nick Naga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Reggie Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Naga might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to NAGA Nap. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nick Naga!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Reggie Smith!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Gregory Folan and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith fails in his attempt to clinch.
Smith throws a series of punches but Naga avoids them all with ease.

Naga drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Naga swings around for an armbar but Smith sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Naga's guard.

Naga throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Naga can't keep his opponent in guard - Smith advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Smith is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Naga defends it well.

Smith is working for a submission of some sort.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Smith seems to be looking for submissions.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Naga is trying to control but can't.
Smith wants to pass to mount but Naga is defending the position.
Naga gets back to full guard.
Naga looking to control.
Smith wants to get up but he can't break Naga's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Smith postures up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Naga misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Smith.
Smith tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Naga paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Nick Naga seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A combination from Smith does no damage.
Smith scores with the left hand. Naga knows he should have avoided that one.

Naga decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Smith avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Naga.
Smith is trying to stand up here but Naga is controlling him well.
Smith looks gassed!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Naga uses his free foot to push down on Smith's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Smith.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Naga has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Smith is forced to tap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Nick Naga!
