Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Akira Kurosawa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sparing Bjj (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kurosawa comes to the cage accompanied by War drums. Bjj has chosen 50 cent feat. eminem, cashis & lloyd banks - You don't know as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Akira Kurosawa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sparing Bjj!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Trevor Gratis and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kurosawa stuffs the takedown attempt from Bjj. Bjj gets slowly back to his feet.
Bjj checks the leg kick nicely there.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Kurosawa lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Bjj has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Bjj and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Kurosawa leaves Bjj with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kurosawa will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Bjj shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Kurosawa napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Bjj escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kurosawa gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Kurosawa is looking to work some ground and pound but Bjj has wrist control.

and Kurosawa makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

Bjj shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Kurosawa's guard.

Kurosawa is looking for a triangle here but Bjj uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Kurosawa wants to control the position but Bjj frees himself and scrambles - Kurosawa manages to regain control in side control.

Bjj is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kurosawa defends well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

and Kurosawa counters with a shoot takedown. Bjj fights it but they end up in guard.

Kurosawa fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Bjj.

Kurosawa dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Bjj. That did some damage!
Kurosawa throws a leg kick but Bjj sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Kurosawa bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Kurosawa wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Bjj, who protects the arm well.

Well Kurosawa has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
