Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ruben Lagus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Russell Bell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lagus comes to the cage accompanied by Llevas Polka. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ruben Lagus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Russell Bell!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Saam Ante and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bell missing with a left hand there. Lagus was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Lagus cracks Bell with a good jab.
Lagus on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Lagus pushes Bell up against the cage in a clinch.
Bell is trying to break the clinch but Lagus is controlling him.

Bell's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Lagus slips a jab from Bell.
Bell throws a hook but Lagus avoids it easily.
Bell throws a leg kick but Lagus moved away.
Lagus showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Bell.
Russell Bell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bell misses with a double jab.

Lagus is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Bell's half guard.
Bell keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Lagus wants to pass the guard but Bell is defending well.
Lagus lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Bell is refusing to be controlled, as Lagus sits in half guard.
Lagus has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Bell wants to control but Lagus passes into side.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bell tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Lagus wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lagus fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Lagus creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Bell sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Bell looking for a sweep but Lagus has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Lagus trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Bell blocking the ground and pound.
Bell can't escape the position.
Lagus tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Bell wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Lagus.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Bell really wants to buck Lagus off and get back to his feet.
Lagus throws some wild stikes that Bell manages to avoid easily.
Bell sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Lagus thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Bell's head.
Lagus thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Lagus lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Lagus working Bell over with strikes.
Lagus performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Bell won't allow Lagus to pass to mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bell is looking for a sweep. Lagus is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Bell is trying to stand.
Bell is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Lagus trying to mount his opponent but Bell defends it.
Lagus working over Bell with some ground and pound. Bell looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Bell is trying to control but can't.
Bell is looking for a sweep. Lagus is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Bell avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Lagus.
Bell wants to get back to his feet.
Bell looks gassed!
Lagus throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Lagus uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Bell.
Lagus lands a with a good body shot.

Lagus changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bell looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Lagus in side control lands a decent elbow.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Lagus grinds an elbow into Bell's temple.
Lagus connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Bell some visible discomfort.
Lagus looks up at the clock and then as Bell takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Lagus smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ruben Lagus dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Bell has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Bell there as he acknowledges the shot.

Lagus tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bell was well out of range. Poor timing from Lagus.
Bell takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Lagus lands a left and a right that sends Bell crashing to the canvas! Lagus dives into mount looking to finish!


Bell is rocked!


It looks like Russell Bell has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lagus lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Bell is still in real trouble! Can Lagus finish him?
Lagus lands a big shot there that rocks Bell but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Lagus lands a heavy elbow.
Lagus unloading with bombs!
Lagus lands a big shot to the head and Bell winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Ruben Lagus!
