Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Steven Malloy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Skelter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Malloy kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Next Contestant. Skelter has chosen The Beatles - "Helter Skelter" as his entrance music. The key to victory for Steven Malloy has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jimmy Skelter!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Franklyn Lucas and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A leg kick checked by Malloy.
Skelter takes one on the chin but seems OK.


It looks like Jimmy Skelter has been cut.
No joy there for Malloy, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Skelter walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Skelter scores with a jab to the jaw.
Malloy throws the left hand but Skelter avoids the punch easily.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Malloy lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Skelter shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Malloy is trying to defend but Skelter finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Skelter looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Malloy with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Malloy pushes Skelter away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Skelter gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Steven Malloy.
I think Skelter has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
