The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ivanov bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Hirvonen seems a little lost for a moment, as Ivanov dominates the positioning.

Ivanov decides to stand up, so the ref orders Hirvonen to his feet.

Hirvonen feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

and Hirvonen counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Hirvonen stands and throws Ivanov's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Hirvonen is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Ivanov's shoulder. That is not cool.

Ivanov tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Hirvonen cranks the arm and Ivanov screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Ivanov, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
