PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jaakko Pajari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mauri Pekkarinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pajari comes into the arena with The Grid - Diablo blaring out of the sound system. Pekkarinen has chosen Gay Bar as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pajari shoots for a takedown but Pekkarinen saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Pajari walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Pekkarinen checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Pekkarinen blocks a head kick by Pajari.
Pekkarinen misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Pekkarinen misses with a few strikes there.
Pekkarinen tries to close the distance and clinch up but Pajari swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Pekkarinen throws a right hand that Pajari ducks under and follows up with a left that Pajari also avoids with ease.

Pekkarinen rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Pajari moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Pekkarinen shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Pekkarinen showed some decent athleticism there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pekkarinen thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Pekkarinen must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Pekkarinen wants to stand and escape but instead Pajari has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Pekkarinen is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Pajari is controlling him.

Pajari moves into full mount! Pekkarinen won't be happy about that!
Pekkarinen's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

The referee warns Pekkarinen that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

and Pekkarinen counters with a crisp one two that drops Pajari! Pekkarinen thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Pajari to his feet! Pajari is in big trouble!
