Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Arto Muna (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Big M (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Arto Muna!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Big M!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Tarja Halkonen and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Muna circles away from the clinch attempt.
Muna swats away the attempt to clinch by M.
Muna lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but M circles away quickly and effectively.
M tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Muna paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Muna keeps the fight on the outside.
M lands a nice hook to Muna's body. Muna takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
M doesn't manage to clinch there - Muna circles away.
Muna looks to land a combination but M avoids it well.
Muna lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
M tries to clinch there but Muna circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Muna pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Muna slips a jab from M.
Muna looks for the body kick but M saw that one coming.
M wants to clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - M looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

M fails in his attempt to clinch.
A telegraphed right hand from M misses the target.
M takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
M tries to close the distance and clinch up but Muna swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Muna misses with a hook.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Muna.
M dodges the ground and pound from Muna.
M is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Muna is controlling him well.

Muna is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but M is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Muna working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Muna misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
M is trying to improve his position.

Muna looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Muna tries to score with some ground and pound. M controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
M tries to clinch there but Muna circles away.
M fails with an attempt to clinch.
Muna lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
M tries to clinch but Muna is having none of it.
Muna loads up on a big right hand but M slips the punch.
Horrible takedown by Muna or perhaps it was just good defense by M which made him look bad.
Muna fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but M avoids it really well and circles away.
Muna misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Muna misses with the combination.
Muna moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Muna fails to land with a series of punches.

M has managed to clinch.
Muna prevents a takedown attempt there.
Muna stops a takedown attempt from M.

M has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Muna clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Muna trying to control but not successfully.
Muna can't escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Arto Muna will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


M bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
M tries to clinch but Muna moves out of range.
Muna misses with a few strikes there.
Muna throws a hook but M avoids it easily.
A shot to the body from M misses
and Muna counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Muna thuds his right hand into M's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Muna takes a swing at M's ribcage but misses.
Muna misses with a hook.
M tries to grapple but his opponent circles
letting Muna counter with a right hand.
Big M seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Muna scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Muna shoots in and drives through. M sprawls well.
Muna connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Muna ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
M closes the distance but Muna moves to the side
and Muna counters with a nice uppercut.

M throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Muna was covering up waiting for the punch and M finishes the takedown easily into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Muna looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! M has picked Muna up and slammed him! Muna can't keep hold of the triangle and M manages to pass to side control!
M in side control, just content to control the action for now.

Muna is looking to reverse the position.
Muna trying his best to control but M has mounted him.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Muna is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Muna is squirming around, avoiding M's attempts to control the action.
M prevents Muna from getting the reversal.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
M controlling from the full mount.
Muna is looking to improve his position but M isn't that keen on the idea.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Arto Muna will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

M wants to stand and escape but Muna is having none of it.
M avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Muna lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down M.
Muna tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
A looping hook to the body misses from Muna. M does a little dance to reset his feet.

M tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Muna counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
M takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Muna throws an uppercut from half a mile away. M sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Nice jab there from Muna.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
M wants a takedown.
M changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Muna fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Muna throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

M decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Muna controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.

Muna wants to control but M is keeping busy and won't allow it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Muna is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Muna trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
M manages to capitalize on a mistake by Muna to take his back!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Muna is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

That was a close round but Arto Muna did the better work so I'd imagine he'll take it.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


M wants to clinch but Muna slips to the side

and Muna counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Arto Muna just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
M keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

and Muna counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Muna.
M is trying to keep Muna in close.
Muna working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

M is working an open guard so Muna takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
M clinches but Muna breaks the clinch
and Muna counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Arto Muna had his way with Big M in that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Muna moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
M tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Muna counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in M's guard now.
M is controlling Muna's posture.
Muna throws a big right hand that misses.
M is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
M has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Muna is looking to work some ground and pound but M has wrist control.

Muna makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Muna is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! M is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! M has escaped and now he's on top!
Muna is trying to keep M in close.
Big M has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
M must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Muna working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. M doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. M manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Muna working for submissions but it's allowed M to get to half guard.
Muna is looking for a sweep. M is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Arto Muna overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Muna is trying to control but can't.
Arto Muna is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
M thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

And that's the end of the fight!
Arto Muna showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Muna, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
