Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Herr Mann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thomas Hook (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hook has chosen Teenage Wasteland/ Baba O Reily as his entrance music. Herr Mann has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Daniel Blasius and Aafke Stam.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mann fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hook, pushing him back against the cage.
Hook is trying to break the clinch but Mann has him pressed against the cage.
Mann controlling the action here for a moment.
Hook jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Mann walks away with a smile on his face. Hook gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Mann misses with a low kick.
Hook closes the distance and clinches up with Mann, looking for a takedown. Hook pushes Mann against the cage but Mann circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Mann shoots in looking for a takedown. Hook tries to sprawl out of it but Mann keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hook manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Herr Mann has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Thomas Hook.

Hook is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Mann is controlling him well.

Mann has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hook is trying to buck Mann off.

Hook explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Mann throws the kick towards the body but Hook avoids it.

Hook tries to land a front kick but Mann steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

The fight stays on the outside here - Mann looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Hook thows a leg kick but Mann checks it

so Mann counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Mann drops back looking for a leg! Hook is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hook manages to kick Mann off! Mann jumps back into Hook's guard.
Hook is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Mann drops back, looking for a kneebar! Hook looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Hook looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Hook!

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Hook fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Mann checks it well.
Thomas Hook is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Hook shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Mann napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Hook wants to stand but Mann is controlling his arm.
Mann is looking to regain half guard here but Hook keeps moving and retains side control.

Hook decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Mann feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Hook's calf.

Mann pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Mann blocks a low kick nicely.
Mann steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Hook.

Mann shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Mann is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hook is just riding it out for now. Mann eventually gives up the hold.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hook is defending against the submission attempts here by Mann.

Mann is looking for a kimura here.
Hook looks like he's trying to stand up.
Hook is looking to get back to is feet but Mann passes into side control.

Mann wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hook, who protects the arm well.
Mann will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Mann is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hook knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Herr Mann overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Mann tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mann has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Hook is trying to get back to his feet.
Mann really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Mann tries to score with some ground and pound. Hook controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Hook pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Hook looks to clinch

and Mann decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hook's guard.

Mann is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Mann drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Hook dives on top into guard.

Mann escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hook gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Hook wants to stand but Mann is controlling his posture from full guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Mann working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hook doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hook manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Hook is looking to stand up but Mann won't let him.
Hook really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mann. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Hook must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Mann escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hook gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Hook gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Hook shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Hook tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Mann.

Hook is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Mann gets full guard.

Mann has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hook can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Mann had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Hook is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Mann Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Hook's back instead.

Mann is looking for the choke from the back position but Hook is controlling his hands well.

Mann has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Hook is defending well but eventually Mann manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Hook has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
