Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Joe Nash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gary Sandurz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Nash!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gary Sandurz!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Chad Campbell and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sandurz gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Nash postures up in Sandurz's guard and throws a big left but Sandurz blocks it.
Sandurz pulls Nash in to control the position.
Sandurz is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Nash trying to move into half guard but instead Sandurz has managed to sweep!

Sandurz gets to his feet. Nash looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Nash shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sandurz sprawls well. Sandurz wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Nash gets slowly back to his feet.
Nash tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Sandurz throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Nash was covering up waiting for the punch and Sandurz finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Nash tries to strike from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sandurz stands up over Nash, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Sandurz is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Nash is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Nash has escaped and now he's on top!
Nash lands a couple of elbows.
Nash in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Nash throws and elbow that misses. Sandurz uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Nash's guard. Nice move by Sandurz!
Sandurz sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Nash's guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well, if Sandurz is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Nash wants to control but Sandurz is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Nash tries to kick Sandurz off but Sandurz keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Nash keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Sandurz escapes and gets back to his feet.
Nash with a poor takedown

and Sandurz counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Nash!

Sandurz avoids the attempt from Nash to control.
Sandurz looking to control but Nash is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Nash is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Nash in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Sandurz takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Sandurz working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Sandurz manages to capitalize on a mistake by Nash to take his back!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Sandurz is looking for the choke from the back position but Nash is controlling his hands well.
Nash holding both Sandurz 's hands and preventing any damage.
Sandurz doesn't have the hooks in and Nash manages to turn into his guard.
Sandurz looking to control.
Sandurz avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Sandurz utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Nash wants to control from the top but Sandurz keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gary Sandurz dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Sandurz slips under a jab from Nash.

Sandurz shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Sandurz showed some decent athleticism there.
Sandurz trying to control the action but Nash is working from the bottom.
Nash is looking to control Sandurz's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Nash avoid being mounted?
Nash is looking to escape.
Sandurz is thwarting Nash's attempts to control the position.

Nash won't allow Sandurz to pass to mount.
Sandurz is breathing heavily.
Nash wants to control but Sandurz is keeping busy.
Nash is trying to stand up here but Sandurz is controlling him well.
Sandurz content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Nash wants to clinch but Sandurz slips to the side

and Sandurz counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Sandurz is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Nash looks like he's trying to stand up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nash flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Nash wants to get back to his feet.

Nash is looking for a sweep. Sandurz is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Nash trying to control from the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Nash is looking to clinch.
Sandurz circles away from the clinch attempt

and Sandurz counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Sandurz trying to control but Nash is working from the bottom.

Sandurz stops Nash from standing up.
Nash not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Nash is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Nash looking for a takedown.
Sandurz leaning against his opponent.
Nash is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
A right handed body shot lands from Nash.
Nash tries for a takedown. No joy.
Sandurz is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Nash gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Nash's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gary Sandurz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Nash closes the distance but Sandurz moves to the side

and Sandurz counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Sandurz.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nash working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Sandurz.
Sandurz stops Nash from standing up.
Sandurz sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Sandurz's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Sandurz takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Sandurz prevents Nash from getting back to his feet.

Nash is looking for a triangle but Sandurz pushes his legs off easily.

Sandurz is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Sandurz throwing strikes but missing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Sandurz trying to control but Nash is working from the bottom.
Nash is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Sandurz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nash swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Nash is looking to clinch.

Nash has closed the distance and engaged Sandurz in a clinch.
Sandurz slows down the pace here.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sandurz missing with knees to the body.
Sandurz tries to pull guard but Nash holds him up against the cage and eventually Sandurz drops back down to his feet.

Nash breaks the clinch.
Sandurz takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Nash clinches but Sandurz breaks the clinch

and Sandurz counters with a single leg into guard. Nash didn't expect that.
Nash wants to stand and escape but Sandurz is having none of it.
Joe Nash has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Sandurz trying to control the position from guard on top but Nash is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Sandurz trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Sandurz postures up.
Nash is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Sandurz is controlling him.
Nash is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Nash trying to strike off his back.

And that's the end of the fight!
Gary Sandurz comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Sandurz winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
