Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between John Chase (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Paul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paul has chosen DMX as his entrance music. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Chase!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Peter Paul!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Stewart Dunkirk and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chase moves forwards but Paul connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Paul throws a right and a left that both miss.

Chase looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Paul!

Chase wants to finish this one by submission but Paul is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Chase.

Paul defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Chase.
Paul is working to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Chase looking to ground and pound but Paul is blocking nicely.

Chase working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Chase moves to the back.

Paul defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.
Paul holding both Chase 's hands and preventing any damage.

Paul wants to escape the position.
Chase is trying to stick to Paul's back but Paul is turning into Chase. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Chase's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Paul.
Paul tries to stand but Chase is controlling from the bottom.

Chase is looking for a triangle here but Paul uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Chase is breathing heavily.
Paul wants to lay and pray for a moment but Chase keeps working.
Chase is looking to regain half guard here but Paul keeps moving and retains side control.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Paul decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Chase wants to work for an arm triangle but Paul is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Chase is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Chase wants to free his trapped foot but Paul is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Paul manages to get to full guard.

Paul has his foot on Chase's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Chase works his way back into a safe position though.

Paul is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Chase postures up and lands a big shot to Paul's brow.

Chase passes Paul's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Chase moves into full mount! Paul won't be happy about that!
Chase thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Chase throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Chase throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Paul because Chase loaded up on that one.
You get the feeling that Paul really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Chase jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Paul is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Paul and Chase has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Chase throws an elbow but Paul slips to the side and avoids it well.
Chase has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Paul tries to escape but Chase is in control.
Chase scores with punches from side control.

Chase thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Chase working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Chase working away.

Chase moves into full mount!
Paul regains half guard.
Paul wants to control but Chase is keeping busy.
Paul makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Paul.

Chase has gone for a leg lock! Paul slips out almost immediately though and dives into Chase's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Paul gets to his feet - Chase follows without any prompting.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Chase shoots in and drives through. Paul sprawls well.
Chase fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Chase darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Paul wants to get back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Chase dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Chase drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Paul manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Chase has Paul in his guard.
Chase looking for a sweep. Not yet Chase, not yet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Paul has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Chase is proving hard to escape from.
Paul with a flurry of punches that miss.

Chase looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Paul has picked Chase up and slammed him! Chase can't keep hold of the triangle and Paul manages to pass to side control!
Chase tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Paul presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Chase regains half guard.
Chase regains full guard. Nicely done.
Chase manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Paul manages to get himself to full guard.
Chase with a flurry of punches that miss.

Chase is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Chase passes Paul's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Paul actively working from the bottom here.
Paul works his way to full guard. Good work.

Paul had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Chase is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Paul Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Chase's back instead.

Paul doesn't have the hooks in and Chase manages to turn into his guard.
Chase loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Chase postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Paul is working to avoid the ground and pound but Chase connects with a decent elbow.

Chase cracks Paul with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Paul is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Chase is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Paul has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Chase quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Chase but it's paid off an Paul is forced to tap! Nice work by Chase.
