Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Luc Rossi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mattew Justice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Luc Rossi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mattew Justice!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Skip Squint and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rossi tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Justice paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Justice closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Rossi to the mat! Rossi manages to get full guard.
Rossi lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Justice!

Rossi swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Justice is now in Rossi's guard. A big mistake from Rossi there, giving up the dominant position!

Rossi avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Justice wants to pass the guard but Rossi is keeping the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Justice throws a strike but Rossi rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Rossi wants to control from the top but Justice keeps moving.
Rossi slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Justice really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rossi. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Rossi stands up and beckons Justice to his feet.

Justice drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Rossi is trying to keep Justice in close.
Rossi thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Justice stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rossi swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Rossi trying to keep a closed guard but Justice is proving a slippery customer.
Rossi is breathing heavily.
Justice thows a big elbow that misses.
Justice postures up and lands a big shot to Rossi's brow.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Rossi throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Justice swats away the attempt to clinch by Rossi.
Justice avoids the head kick by Rossi.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

A nice elbow there by Justice.

Justice lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Justice is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Rossi can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Justice has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Rossi's face.
Rossi tries to hold on but Justice postures up.

Rossi gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Rossi has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Justice off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Justice throws a strike but Rossi rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Justice wants to get back to his feet but Rossi is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Rossi wants to stand but Justice is controlling his posture from full guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Justice working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rossi doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Rossi manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Justice shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Rossi's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Justice cracks Rossi with a solid left hand.

Rossi has his foot on Justice's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Justice works his way back into a safe position though.

Justice throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rossi works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Rossi is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Justice lands a couple of decent looking shots.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mattew Justice showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Rossi takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Justice throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
You can see the frustration on Rossi's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Rossi is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Justice is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Justice can do anything to dispel that myth.

Justice is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Justice is desperately trying to improve his position but Rossi has a good base and remains in mount.
Rossi trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Luc Rossi has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Mattew Justice is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Mattew Justice comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Justice has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
