The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kenzie connects with a body shot.
Kenzie throws a good cross that connects.
Dowd takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Kenzie cracks Dowd with an open hand slap.

Dowd shoots in but Kenzie avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Dowd shoots in for a double leg but Kenzie sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Dowd misses with a takedown attempt - Kenzie sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Patrick Kenzie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wellen Dowd.
Kenzie lands a nice hook to Dowd's body. Dowd takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kenzie stuffs the takedown attempt from Dowd. Dowd gets slowly back to his feet.
Dowd changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kenzie tries to avoid it but Dowd manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kenzie to the ground. Kenzie escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Dowd fails with the takedown.
Kenzie is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Kenzie punishes Dowd's body with a nice straight punch.

Kenzie drops Dowd with a beautiful combination! Dowd stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Kenzie is looking for the KO!

It looks like Wellen Dowd has been cut.
Kenzie drops Dowd with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Dowd! Kenzie dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
