Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Carson Holliday!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rick Timmons!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Franklyn Lucas and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Timmons tries to close the distance and clinch but Holliday swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Timmons drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Holliday keeping full guard, as Timmons tries to pass.
Timmons trying to control but Holliday is working from the bottom.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Holliday is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Timmons defends well.
Timmons must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Timmons trying to control the position from guard on top but Holliday is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Timmons avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Timmons would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Holliday holds on and takes a little breather.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Timmons is looking to stand up but Holliday won't let him.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Holliday working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Timmons doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Timmons manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Carson Holliday dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Holliday feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Holliday stops Timmons from standing up.

Holliday is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Timmons can do anything to dispel that myth.
Timmons is trying to control the position but Holliday postures up.

Holliday not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Holliday stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Timmons swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Timmons tries to clinch up.
Timmons slaps away a takedown attempt from Holliday, before circling back to the center of the mat.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Timmons is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Holliday has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Timmons should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Holliday has tightened it up now! Timmons should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
