Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ferdek Kiepski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frito Lei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ferdek Kiepski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frito Lei!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Frank Dennis and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lei throws a body kick that misses.
Lei keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Lei tries to close the distance and clinch but Kiepski swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Lei tries a head kick but it misses.

Lei lands a big head kick that sends Kiepski tumbling to the mat! Lei takes a step backwards and waves Kiepski back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Kiepski is rocked!


It looks like Ferdek Kiepski has been cut.
Frito Lei seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kiepski changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Lei looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Oh Kiepski is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Kiepski lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Lei down.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lei stops Kiepski from passing to mount.
Kiepski seems to have got his legs back now.
Lei is being controlled here.

Kiepski swings around for an armbar but Lei sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Kiepski's guard.

Kiepski had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Lei defends it easily.
Kiepski is breathing heavily.

Kiepski has a closed guard, preventing Lei from standing up.
Kiepski throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Kiepski is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Lei tries to stand but Kiepski is controlling from the bottom.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Kiepski looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Kiepski escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lei gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Kiepski tries to keep at a distance but Lei has taken the fight into the clinch.
Kiepski managing to block the knees to the body from Lei.
Kiepski is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Lei gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Lei breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Lei tries to clinch but Kiepski is having none of it.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Lei tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Kiepski swats away the attempt to clinch by Lei.

Lei doesn't manage to clinch there - Kiepski circles away.

Lei lets loose with a powerful body kick. Kiepski will feel that in the morning.
Lei rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kiepski moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Lei throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

Lei breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A slapping body kick lands there for Lei.
Lei thuds his shin into the meat of Kiepski's side.
Lei scores with a hook to the body. Kiepski takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Lei breaks the clinch.
Lei scores with a jab. Kiepski acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kiepski avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Lei throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Lei misses with a double jab.
Kiepski looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Lei fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Kiepski, pushing him back against the cage.

Lei's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Lei gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Lei lands a body shot in the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Frito Lei dominated that round.

Lei gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Kiepski throwing strikes from guard but Lei blocks nicely.

Kiepski decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Lei displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kiepski.
Nice body kick there by Lei.
Lei connects with a solid leg kick.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Lei moves in looking to clinch but Kiepski pushes him off.

Kiepski tries to clinch there but Lei circles away.

Lei explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Frito Lei is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Crunch! Lei slams his shin into Kiepski's torso.
Lei throws a combination. Kiepski tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Lei lands a head kick!
Kiepski tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Lei circles away from the clinch attempt
and Lei counters with a head kick. That will keep Kiepski thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

and Kiepski counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Kiepski.

Kiepski is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Lei gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Lei's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Kiepski fails with the takedown.
Lei throws a front kick that sends Kiepski stumbling back into the cage.

Lei looks to land a combination. Kiepski sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Lei is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Lei looks to throw the jab but Kiepski is out of range.

Kiepski feints and as Lei raises his hands in defense, Kiepski changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Lei wants to stand but Kiepski is controlling the position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lei can do anything to dispel that myth.

Lei wants to get back to his feet but Kiepski is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Lei has momentary wrist control but Kiepski slips an elbow through the middle.

Kiepski wants to control from the top but Lei keeps moving.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Lei is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Kiepski postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Kiepski stops Lei from standing up.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Kiepski throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Lei on the side of the head.
Kiepski avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Kiepski wants to clinch up but Lei keeps it at a distance.

Frito Lei showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Lei dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Lei connects with a single shot there.

Kiepski shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Kiepski sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Lei defending well though.
Kiepski throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Kiepski landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Lei wants to get back to his feet.
Kiepski wants to take a breather but Lei is having none of it.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Lei is trying to stand back up but Kiepski is controlling him

Kiepski postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Lei to stand up.
Lei swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Kiepski clinches up with Lei and pushes him back against the cage.
Kiepski has Lei pressed against the cage, preventing Lei from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

and Lei counters with a one-two to the body.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kiepski is defended easily by Lei.
Lei tries to bum rush Kiepski with a series of wild strikes but Kiepski uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and Kiepski counters with a stiff right hand.

Lei drives through and clinches with Kiepski against the cage.

Lei pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Kiepski looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Kiepski scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Lei doesn't seem bothered though.
Lei buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
A slapping body kick lands there for Lei.
Lei tries to clinch up but Kiepski circles away and keeps his distance.
Kiepski will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body.
Nice takedown defense from Lei. No joy for Kiepski on that attempt.

Lei throws a right and a left that both miss.
Kiepski tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Lei moves into the clinch.
Lei is trying to maintain a safe position but Kiepski gets an underhook and turns Lei into the cage.
Lei is pressed up against the cage. Kiepski has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Lei down to the mat. Lei avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Frito Lei seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Lei is looking to clinch.
Kiepski moves in looking to clinch but Lei pushes him off.

Lei throws a head kick that half lands.
Kiepski digs a good hook to Lei's body.

Lei clinches with his opponent.
Lei digs a right hand into Kiepski's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Kiepski's gas tank.
Kiepski tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Lei just stands there and leans against the cage.
Kiepski looking for a takedown.

Lei escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Lei slaps away a takedown attempt from Kiepski, before circling back to the center of the mat.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Kiepski working hard to break the clinch.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Lei.
Kiepski tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Lei using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Lei tries a knee to the head but Kiepski blocks it.

Kiepski goes for a takedown attempt but Lei pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Lei pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Lei throws a half hearted mid kick.
Kiepski wants to clinch but Lei slips to the side
and Lei counters with a series of strikes. Kiepski will be more careful next time no doubt.
Kiepski fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Lei fails in his attempt to clinch.
Lei keeps the fight on the outside.
Kiepski fails with an attempt to clinch.

Lei has Kiepski up against the cage in a clinch.
Ferdek Kiepski has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Frito Lei is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Kiepski pushes off an throws an elbow but Lei leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

And that's the end of the fight!
Frito Lei comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Lei winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
