Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Calvin Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mickey ONeil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thompson comes into the arena with LL Cool J - Mamma Said Knock You Out blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Jonathan Paton and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Thompson misses with a body shot.
ONeil misses with a body shot.
ONeil throws a right and a left that Thompson avoids nicely.
ONeil swings away with a body shot that misses
and Thompson makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
A telegraphed right hand from ONeil misses the target.
ONeil throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Thompson throws out a powerful jab.
It looks like Mickey ONeil has been cut.
ONeil cracks Thompson with a right hand to the side of the head.
Thompson dodges the punch combination from ONeil.
ONeil throws a series of punches but Thompson avoids them all with ease.
Thompson works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Thompson connects with a jab.
Thompson works ONeil's body with a nice hook.
ONeil looks gassed!
ONeil chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Thompson can pounce on him.
Thompson scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. ONeil doesn't seem bothered though.
ONeil looks up at the clock. Bad move! Thompson lands a right hand from hell, dropping ONeil. Thompson pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:01 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Calvin Thompson!
Calvin Thompson retains his middleweight title!
