PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Grant Brophy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jedrek Keshrenov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brophy comes into the arena with Pump It- Black Eyed Peas blaring out of the sound system. This should be fireworks!

The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, James Ackerman and Steven Brown.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brophy throws a nice looking combination but Keshrenov bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Keshrenov pushes Brophy up against the cage in a clinch.
Keshrenov tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Brophy smiles and moves away.
Brophy throws a head kick but Keshrenov moves out of range.
Good standup being displayed there by Brophy as he connects with a hook.
Keshrenov shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Brophy defends it nicely.
Brophy moves in looking to clinch but Keshrenov pushes him off.

Keshrenov drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Keshrenov drops back looking for a leg! Brophy is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Brophy manages to kick Keshrenov off! Keshrenov jumps back into Brophy's guard.

Keshrenov drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Brophy manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Keshrenov has Brophy in his guard.

Keshrenov is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Brophy stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Brophy throws a head kick but Keshrenov moves out of range.
Keshrenov avoids the head kick by Brophy.
Brophy is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Keshrenov avoids the head kick by Brophy.
Grant Brophy is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Keshrenov looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Brophy is fending him off so far but Keshrenov persists. Nope, Brophy circles away and we're back to standing.
Grant Brophy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jedrek Keshrenov.
Brophy misses with a double jab.
Brophy lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Keshrenov backs up against the cage.
Keshrenov looks gassed!
Brophy tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Brophy throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
A slapping leg kick lands for Brophy.
A head kick from Brophy lands but Keshrenov takes it in his stride.
Brophy fails with an attempt to clinch.

Keshrenov moves out of range as Brophy strikes.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Brophy! Keshrenov is out on his feet! Brophy rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Keshrenov is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Keshrenov is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
