Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Akira Ishikawa!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Bruno Hogan and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ishikawa shoots in for a double leg but Manucho sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Manucho looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Manucho stuffs the takedown.
Ishikawa is trying hard to land a takedown here. Manucho sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Horrible takedown by Ishikawa or perhaps it was just good defense by Manucho which made him look bad.
Ishikawa throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Manucho's waist but Manucho gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ishikawa off to one side.
Manucho tries to clinch but Ishikawa moves out of range.
Ishikawa fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Ishikawa avoids the head kick by Manucho.
Manucho tries to bum rush Ishikawa with a series of wild strikes but Ishikawa uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Manucho fails to land with a series of punches.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ishikawa is defended easily by Manucho.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Ishikawa shoots in and drives through. Manucho sprawls well.
Manucho throws a series of strikes that have Ishikawa backpedaling.
Nice sprawl there from Manucho as Ishikawa shoots in.
Ishikawa misses with a head kick.
Manucho misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Nice takedown defense from Manucho. No joy for Ishikawa on that attempt.
Manucho throws a combination. Ishikawa tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

and Manucho counters with a takedown into side control.

Manucho stands up.
Ishikawa tries to score a power double leg takedown but Manucho sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ishikawa somewhat.
Manucho misses with a jab, cross combination.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Ishikawa.
Ishikawa tries to clinch but Manucho moves out of range.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Manucho fails to land with a series of punches.
Ishikawa shoots in looking for a takedown. Manucho tries to sprawl out of it but Ishikawa keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Manucho manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Manucho swinging wilding here.
Ishikawa shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Manucho as he avoids it easily.
Manucho throws a right and a left that Ishikawa avoids nicely.
Manucho misses with a jab, cross combination.
Manucho finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Horrible takedown by Ishikawa or perhaps it was just good defense by Manucho which made him look bad.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Manuchois looking to pass into half guard but Ishikawa pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Ishikawa is in guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Ishikawa trying to control the position from guard on top but Manucho is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Ishikawa throws a big right hand that misses.

Ishikawa wants to control from the top but Manucho keeps moving.
Manucho will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Ishikawa wants to stand but Manucho is controlling his posture from full guard.

Ishikawa drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Ishikawa seems to have locked his on tight now - Manucho screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Ishikawa, as he picks up the win!
