Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Long Dong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Henry Morgan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dong kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Thompson Twins - If You Were Here. Long Dong has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Long Dong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Henry Morgan!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Anthony Taglia and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morgan connects with a body shot.
Dong displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Morgan throws out the jab.
Morgan waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Dong.
Morgan throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Morgan wants to clinch.
Morgan lands a really nice looking cross but Dong seems unphased.
Morgan throws a right and a left that both miss.
Morgan cracks Dong with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Henry Morgan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Morgan throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Dong's head.
Dong shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Morgan has taken the fight to the clinch.
Dong is pressed up against the cage. Morgan has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Dong down to the mat. Dong avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Dong ducks under a wild hook from Morgan.
Morgan misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Dong really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Dong feints and as Morgan raises his hands in defense, Dong changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Dong scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Dong throwing strikes from guard but Morgan blocks nicely.
Morgan looking for a sweep. Not yet Morgan, not yet.
Morgan bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Dong's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Morgan wants to stand and escape but instead Dong has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Dong thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Morgan is looking to sweep but instead, Dong has passed into half guard.

Morgan pushes Dong off and gets back to his feet.
Morgan swings for the body but Dong moves out of range.
Morgan scoring well with a low kick there.
Morgan tries to close the distance and clinch up but Dong swats him away and circles back towards the center.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Morgan gets caught flat footed, as Dong shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Dong landing some decent shots from guard.
Dong working some strikes from top position.
Dong trying to control the position from guard on top but Morgan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Morgan keeping full guard, as Dong tries to pass.
Morgan controls Dong momentarily but Dong frees himself.
Dong has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Dong stopping the sweep attempt from Morgan.

Dong drops back looking for a leg! Morgan is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Morgan manages to kick Dong off! Dong jumps back into Morgan's guard.
Dong will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Morgan controls Dong momentarily but Dong frees himself.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Morgan scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Morgan leaves Dong with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Dong closes the distance and clinches up with Morgan, looking for a takedown. Dong pushes Morgan against the cage but Morgan circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Long Dong. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Morgan closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Morgan looks to land a left hand but Dong moved out of range nicely.
Morgan misses with a hook.
Dong shoots in for a double leg but Morgan sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Morgan lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Dong staying out of range there.

Morgan fails with the takedown

and Dong counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Dong seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Morgan does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Morgan slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Morgan utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Dong drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Morgan dives on top into guard.

Morgan drops back, looking for a kneebar! Dong looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Dong looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Dong!
Morgan is trying to control Dong's posture but Dong avoids it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Morgan is looking for a sweep.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Henry Morgan dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Morgan misses with a low kick.
Morgan tries to land a leg kick but Dong saw it coming and moves away.

Morgan looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Morgan thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Dong to regain full guard.

Morgan got a little sloppy there for a moment and Dong has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Morgan has managed to get both his arms back between Dong's legs - danger averted.

Dong looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Morgan wants to stand and escape but instead Dong has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Morgan is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Morgan wants to sweep but no luck.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dong thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Morgan looking to hit a scissor sweep but Dong is one step ahead there.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Morgan misses with a head kick.
Henry Morgan is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Morgan fails to land with a series of punches.
Morgan takes a swing at Dong's ribcage but misses.
Morgan is breathing heavily.

Dong shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Morgan misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Dong shoots for a takedown but Morgan saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Morgan tries to score with a low kick but Dong moves his leg out of the way.

and Dong counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Morgan!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Dong cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Dong is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Morgan has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Dong landing strikes, looking to finish!

Dong is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Morgan is surviving well by controlling Dong's body position as best he can.
Dong lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Morgan really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Dong with a couple of short strikes.

Dong jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Morgan manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Dong wants to lay and pray for a moment but Morgan keeps working.

Dong wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Morgan, who protects the arm well.
Morgan gets back to half guard.
Morgan gets back to full guard.
Dong is looking to work some ground and pound but Morgan has wrist control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Morgan stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Morgan wants it to stay on the feet.

Good anti-grappling being displayed by Morgan as Dong tries to tie him up.

Dong has Morgan pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Morgan manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Morgan manages to escape and get back to his feet.

and Dong counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Dong.
Morgan tries to break free but Dong pushes him back against the cage.
Dong keeps control of Morgan as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Dong is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Morgan can't fight it off and eventually Dong manages to take the fight to the floor. Morgan looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Dong drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Dong jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Morgan has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dong can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Morgan wants to sweep but no luck.

Long Dong showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Dong has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
