Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wilhelm Schwieger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Heath Palmer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schwieger closes this distance looking for a takedown but Palmer circles away.

Schwieger looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Palmer with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Schwieger will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Schwieger seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Palmer for as long as he can get away with.

Schwieger decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Palmer, up you get!
Palmer lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Schwieger circles away quickly and effectively.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Schwieger accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Schwieger drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Schwieger jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Schwieger has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Schwieger is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Schwieger is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Palmer defends it well.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
BOOM! Schwieger connects with a massive shot to the dome!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Schwieger cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
