Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mohamad Taufik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryu Hayabusa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Taufik comes to the cage accompanied by I Came To Play - Downstaits. Ryu Hayabusa has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Joseph Jones and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taufik fails in his attempt to clinch.
Hayabusa closes the distance but Taufik moves to the side
and Taufik counters with a shoot takedown. Hayabusa fights it but they end up in guard.
Taufik wants to control from the top but Hayabusa keeps moving.
Taufik is stalling in the full guard.
Taufik trying to stand up but can't free himself from Hayabusa's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Taufik seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Taufik really is a fat lump.
Taufik's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Ryu Hayabusa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Taufik counters by clinching up.
Hayabusa tries to stall but Taufik uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
A right handed body shot lands from Hayabusa.

and Taufik counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Taufik wants to control from the top but Hayabusa keeps moving.
Taufik is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Hayabusa tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Taufik counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Taufik uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hayabusa.
Hayabusa cracks a nice hook into Taufik's ribs.

It looks like Mohamad Taufik has been cut.
Hayabusa closes the distance but Taufik moves to the side
and Taufik counters by moving into the clinch.
Hayabusa is looking to break free of the clinch but Taufik has double underhooks.
Hayabusa looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Taufik pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Taufik tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hayabusa was well out of range. Poor timing from Taufik.

and Taufik counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Hayabusa's guard now.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Taufik wants to control from the top but Hayabusa keeps moving.
Taufik is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Hayabusa is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Hayabusa closes the distance and pushes Taufik back into the cage.

A frustrated look appears on Hayabusa's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Hayabusa lands an elbow that stopped Taufik in his tracks for a moment.

Taufik tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Hayabusa lands an elbow inside that Taufik shrugs off.

and Taufik counters with a good low kick that Hayabusa was not able to check.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Ryu Hayabusa showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

and Taufik counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Hayabusa throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Hayabusa wants to clinch up but Taufik keeps it at a distance.
Hayabusa is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Taufik rather than just go for the knockout.
Hayabusa dances in with a quick combination. Taufik is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Hayabusa snaps Taufik's head back. Taufik stumbles backwards against the cage. Hayabusa steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Taufik's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Taufik just didn't come prepared.
