The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jelani fails in his attempt to clinch.
So looks to land a right hand but Jelani moved out of range.
So keeps the fight on the outside.
Jelani cracks So with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Dip So seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jelani closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. So did well to prevent Jelani getting side control.

Jelani is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
So looks like he's trying to stand up.
So landing rabbit punches to the side of Jelani's head. Not doing much damage but still scoring a few points.
Jelani wants to pass to mount but So is defending the position.

It looks like Jabari Jelani has been cut.

So clinches up with Jelani and pushes him back against the cage.
Jelani tries to land a knee to the head but So blocks with his arms.
So has had enough of the clinch but Jelani keeps him there for the moment.

So tries to close the distance and clinch but Jelani swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Nice sprawl there from Jelani as So shoots in.

Jelani shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Jelani was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Jelani is working for a guillotine from mount but So frees his head quite easily.

So squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Jelani has eaten all the pies!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Jelani is working for a rear naked choke. So is not defending it well and Jelani has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! So refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of So 's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
