Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Li Fen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fidel Puno (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fen comes to the ring accompanied by Its The Final Countdown. Both these fighters are unbeaten, so somebody's 0 has got to go!This should be a great matchup!

The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Fen or perhaps it was just good defense by Puno which made him look bad.
Fen shoots for a takedown but Puno saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Fen shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Puno pinned against the cage. Puno gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Li Fen. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Fen changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Puno tries to avoid it but Fen manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Puno to the ground. Puno escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Fen swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Puno is now in Fen's guard. A big mistake from Fen there, giving up the dominant position!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Puno misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Fen takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Fen will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Puno thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Fen if he has to take too many more of those.
Fen shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Puno as he jumps to the side.
Fen shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Puno but Puno pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Fen looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Puno is fending him off so far but Fen persists. Nope, Puno circles away and we're back to standing.

Fen working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Puno is looking to regain half guard here but Fen keeps moving and retains side control.
Fen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Puno keeps working.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

The fighters circle momentarily. Puno darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Fen tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Fen shoots in for a takedown but Puno shows good takedown defense.
The fight stays on the outside here - Fen looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Fen shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Puno as he avoids it easily.

and Puno counters with a nice kick to the body.
Puno misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Fen.
Puno throws a series of punches but Fen moves out of range.

Puno is trying to get back to half guard.

Fen thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Puno is trying to control Fen's posture but Fen avoids it.
Fen will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Fen tries to move into full mount but can't pass Puno's legs.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Puno is looking to slow Fen down with leg kicks.

Fen closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Fen is just content to waste time from the top position. Puno takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Puno manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Fen manages to get himself to full guard.

Fen goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Puno rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Fen's guard! Nice work there by Puno!

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Puno has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

The crowd cheers as Puno lands an impressive looking overhand right. Fen doesn't seem phased though.

Fen shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Puno's guard.

Fen sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Puno's guard.
Li Fen overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Fen tries to pass to full mount but Puno defends it.
Fen wants to advance to full mount but Puno doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Fen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Puno swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Li Fen has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Fen tries to free his leg and advance position but Puno is retaining full guard.
Puno is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Fen is controlling him.

Fidel Puno comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Puno has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
