Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Darra Late (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Malvin Maldi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Late comes into the arena with Gangstarr - Full Clip blaring out of the sound system. Maldi has chosen Loituma TECHNO! as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Malvin Maldi!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Gwen Towbar and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maldi's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Maldi duly obliges.
A thudding body kick lands there by Maldi!
Maldi fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Late swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Darra Late seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Maldi defending well as Late loads up on a big left hand.

Maldi closes the distance and clinches.
A nice left hand lands by Maldi.

Maldi has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Late avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Late has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Maldi is working away from the top position though.

Maldi shoots in but no luck this time.
Maldi slips under a jab.
Maldi lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Maldi takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Maldi uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Late.
Late throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Maldi sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Maldi displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Late throws out the jab.

Maldi shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Late napping and manages to drive through into side control!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
You can see the frustration on Late's face as Maldi controls the position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Maldi throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Late was covering up waiting for the punch and Maldi finishes the takedown easily into guard.

The crowd are getting on Maldi's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch.

Well Maldi has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
