Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Nash!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mose Masoe!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Franklyn Lucas and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Masoe fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Nash avoids it really well and circles away.
A punch combination from Nash misses.
Nash throws a nice outside leg kick.
Nash stuffs the takedown.
Masoe takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Nash lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Masoe circles away quickly and effectively.
Nash fails with the takedown.
Nash fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Nash buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Nash tries to clinch but Masoe moves out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Nash lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Nash moves into the clinch.
Nash is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Masoe has Nash pressed against the cage, preventing Nash from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Masoe should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Nash manages to break the clinch.
Masoe blocks a jab.
Masoe misses with a takedown attempt - Nash sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Joe Nash has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mose Masoe.
The crowd cheers as Nash lands an impressive looking overhand right. Masoe doesn't seem phased though.
Nash moves into range and clinches up with Masoe.
Masoe can't get the takedown.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Nash pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Nash scores with a sloppy right hand. Masoe should have avoided that one.
Nash scores with a kick to the body.
Masoe looks gassed!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Danga de danga de dang - Nash scores with a four punch combination!
Masoe is rocked!
Nash moves into the clinch successfully.
Nash's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Masoe is trying desperately to land a takedown but Nash is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Masoe.
Nash tries to clinch but Masoe moves out of range.
Nash lands a left and a right that send Masoe crashing to the mat, dazed. Nash thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Masoe is still on wobbly legs! Can Nash finish him?
Nash closes the distance and pushes Masoe back into the cage.
Nash breaks from the clinch.
Masoe switches off momentarily and Nash cracks him with a monster right hand! Masoe topples backwards and makes a semi conscious attempt to cover up, as Nash dives in to land one more shot, before the referee has time to call the fight. What a finish by Nash!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:01 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Joe Nash!
