PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Maximus Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Beltran (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Beltran comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Big Poppa kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Maximus Scott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Max Beltran!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scott ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Beltran moves away.
Beltran misses with a wild body shot.
Scott misses with a series of wild punches.
A punch combination from Scott misses.
Beltran shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Scott as he avoids it easily.

Scott ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Beltran moves away.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Scott wants to improve his position but Beltran is controlling well.

Beltran seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Scott does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Beltran changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Scott looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Beltran fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Scott sprawls well initially but Beltran persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Max Beltran comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Beltran has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
