Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Diefenbaker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jesper Rush (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rush is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Tom Sawyer - Rush. John Diefenbaker is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Rush.
Diefenbaker looks to land a left hand but Rush moved out of range nicely.
Rush is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Diefenbaker throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Diefenbaker moves out of range of the strikes.
Diefenbaker checks the leg kick nicely there.
Diefenbaker dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Diefenbaker throws a body punch but Rush moves out of range.
John Diefenbaker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A nice inside leg kick there by Rush. That's going to slow Diefenbaker down.
Rush takes a shot right to the bread basket.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Diefenbaker wants to sweep here but Rush controlling him for the moment.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

That was a close round but I would say that John Diefenbaker will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

No luck for Rush with that takedown attempt.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rush moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

John Diefenbaker is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Diefenbaker lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Rush uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Diefenbaker.

and Rush counters with a straight right hand.
Diefenbaker looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Diefenbaker misses with a double jab
and Rush counters with a low kick, right behind Diefenbaker 's knee.
Rush throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Diefenbaker looks to land a left hand but Rush moved out of range nicely.

Rush gets cracked there but stands up to it.

and Diefenbaker counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Diefenbaker throws a right and a left that both miss.
Rush thuds his right hand into Diefenbaker's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Diefenbaker looks to land a right hand but Rush moved out of range.
Rush takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Rush throws a low kick but it's checked well by Diefenbaker.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Diefenbaker fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Diefenbaker takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that John Diefenbaker will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Rush thumps Diefenbaker with a low kick.
Rush shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Diefenbaker as he jumps to the side.
Some wild striking there from Diefenbaker.
Rush looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Rush drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Diefenbaker wants to sweep here but Rush controlling him for the moment.
Diefenbaker keeping moving, preventing Rush from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Diefenbaker looking to hit a scissor sweep but Rush is one step ahead there.
Rush works a leg free and moves into half guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Diefenbaker is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Rush slips under a jab from Diefenbaker.
Diefenbaker waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Rush.
Diefenbaker swings and misses with a shot to the body

and Rush counters with a single leg into guard. Diefenbaker didn't expect that.
Rush stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Diefenbaker swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Diefenbaker wants to sweep but no luck.
Jesper Rush has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rush throws a big right hand that misses.

Diefenbaker is trying to control the position but Rush postures up.
Rush trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Diefenbaker manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Diefenbaker wants to control from the top but Rush keeps moving.
Rush is adopting a defensive guard.
Rush not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Rush keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Diefenbaker chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Rush can pounce on him.
Rush uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Diefenbaker.
Rush moves out of range of the strikes.
A telegraphed right hand from Diefenbaker misses the target.
Diefenbaker fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Diefenbaker takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Diefenbaker uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Rush.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Diefenbaker, as that shot connected.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jesper Rush comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Diefenbaker has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
